Olive Fast, Chair

Olive has worked in health care for over 30 years, with much of it being spent in acute care. She is an Associate Professor at Mount Royal University where she teaches nursing students. She holds a BA in English from the University of Winnipeg, a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University College of  the Cariboo, a Masters in Nursing Education from the University of British Columbia, and a PhD in nursing from the University of Calgary. Olive has been the Chair of SPECT since its inception in 2013, working with Christina Fast, Jodi Wright, and Jane McIntosh to establish SPECT as a charitable organization. Olive had the opportunity to join Christina on a trip to the Republic of the Congo in the fall of 2013 to assist in assessing and supporting local hospitals where she was able to experience first-hand the work that Christina does. Olive continues to provide support, direction, and leadership for SPECT.
